2015’s Witcher 3 was the best game for its generation. Following the development of highly anticipated futuristic open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, many fans are happy to see the game director return in the most famous list of CD Projekt Red’s developers.
The Witcher 3 game director role wasn’t officially announced by the studio while a fan on Reddit noticed a change in the Konrad Tomaszkiewicz LinkedIn profile. The change in staff was expected as recently Cyberpunk creative designer Sebastian Stepien left the studio and joined Blizzard.
It seems like Tomaszkiewicz will be replacing Stepien but still, there is no detail on what effects this replacement will have on the overall game. But Tomaszkiewicz will be filling the gap that Stepien has left by adopting both roles of vice president for the game’s development and design director.
The Internet is now flooded with speculations that whether Stepien’s departure was normal for studio or not. But at the same time, it seems like most of his work was completed at the studio. While the latest news is of no surprise at all but certainly it could trigger changes in the direction of development.
Tomaszkiewicz promotion is great news for the rise of CD Projekt Red once again. Many fans are excited to hear about his return in the studio. The early life of Tomaszkiewicz was just a tester for the original Witcher game. His struggle is what brought him to join two roles for the studio at the same time
