Rockstar Game’s recent Red Dead Redemption 2 sales have reached more than 24 million copies shipped since the game’s release. The latest news has arrived from game’s publishers Take-Two’s financial results of the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2019, which revealed that game has successfully shipped over 24 million copies.
Take-Two has mentioned that Red Dead Redemption 2 sales have fulfilled the expectations. Not only that, the game has pushed a million more copies in the last three months which were only 23 million in February.
Take-Two finished a stellar year with strong fourth quarter operating results highlighted by the outperformance of Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, as well as NBA 2K19, and significant ongoing sales of our blockbuster hit, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Moreover, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has mentioned that the ongoing Red Dead Online beta will also be getting a full release at the end of June. For those who don’t know, the Red Dead Online beta has been live since November last year.
Additionally, Zelnick reported that the Red Dead Online beta is also working better than the GTA Online’s initial days which weren’t as good as they were expected. Still, the Red Dead Redemption sales figures are quite impressive as the game has only released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as compared to GTA V on both and PC.
Moreover, Rockstar has reported that their six-year-old GTA V is also grossing a lot of revenue which has shipped over 110 million copies. The new game has broken all titles of the best selling game in the series. Thanks to the microtransactions that has helped the studio continue to fill the revenue for the next titles.
On the other side, the rumors on Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC are also cooled down. Although there is no confirmation from studio to release a PC version of the game.
