After several hints, leaks, and speculations on the internet and social media, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has now officially confirmed the first Mortal Kombat 11: Shang Tsung DLC with a gameplay trailer. The latest DLC will return Shang Tsung as the antagonist for the game, while it will be only available as early access to the current owners on June 18th, 2019. Moreover, the latest DLC will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Not only that, the latest Mortal Kombat 11: Shang Tsung DLC comes with early access to Klassic skins for Scorpion, Noob Saibot, and Sub Zero. Shang Tsung is well known as the original antagonists for the series, however, he was instantly dusted away by the big bosses, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok in the previous games. But that doesn’t mean he was weak for his abilities, and his abilities undergone many changes with his combat to steal souls of the opponents and using their talents against them will return in the first DLC for the game.
Shang Tsung was already revealed during a C2E2 panel presentation, where a video featured famous Mortal Kombat universe master sorcerer Shang Tsung which will be based on famous 1995 movie version. The Mortal Kombat movie version of Shang Tsung was played by an actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and the same passion has been implemented in Mortal Kombat 11.
Shang Tsung is already presented as a host, narrator and player guide in the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt. While the Krypt allows players to explore his island fortress along with all secrets and histories from the previous series. Now, as a playable character, Shang Tsung is expected to play a major role in the gameplay.
The Kombat Pack for $39.99 gives players access to over six new characters and 19 new skins for the roster already presented in the game. On the other side, each character will feature own gears and skins available for unlocking. With all the post-release content, the Mortal Kombat 11 will change the gameplay course significantly, although we will just have to wait and see that in the future.
