Dust is finally beginning to settle for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2. The City That Never Sleeps DLC bundle is released, new Fantastic Four content is teased and it is clear that everyone is contemplating a sequel. Regardless of official announcement or not, the end game content and series of tweet statements from Bryan Intihar (Creative Director), has lead to foundation of 6 confirmed details in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.
06. Norman Osborn is Close To Becoming Green Goblin
Norman Osborn finds himself in the corner by the end of the game. He has resigned from the office of the mayor, he is equally getting nowhere in developing a cure for his son Harry, who is kept locked away in secret lab inside his apartment. Norman is running out of alternatives. Insomniac has brilliantly portrayed that his villainous side is not far away.
Mary Jane discovers a prototype mask laying on his desk inside his apartment. The mask can identify structural weaknesses. Other than that, she also discovers prototype purple grenades laid on lab tables. These signs are obvious that Norman is already into villainous role by the end of first game.
05. Harry Osborn is The New Venom
Well, calling Harry the new venom is maybe something of a stretch at this stage. One thing is clear that he is suspended in a symbiote and he is aware of his surrounding. It is currently unclear whether or not the symbiote has bonded with Harry, after all, they both are in same tank and it reacts to Norman’s touch. We do know the symbiote is there to keep Harry alive along with the green goop too.
04. The Symbiote Suit and Peter Will Wear It
Insomniac did not release black suit in any of its DLCs. Bryan Intihar has already stated the significance and story telling of symbiote suit as:
I think something like that suit (Symbiote suit) deserves its day in the spotlight. I think just making it an unlockable suit wouldn’t be doing it justice. It’s one of the best stories for Spider-Man. I think it’s a complex story. And I think it’s a story that needs to be told, and it needs to be told the way Insomniac would tell it
03. Miles Morales in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2
Miles Morals has recently received a lot of spotlight attention. From starring in multiple Spider-Man books, getting a film of his own and appearing in Insomniac’s Spider-Man game, it is clear that the character has a defining year. From the end of base game to the very last DLC, it has been clear that Miles Morales is picking up the pace to become the next Spider-Man.
02. Miles Morales Will Have New Powers
Miles was bitten by genetically engineered spider, who had twice the features than Peter Parker’s bitten spider. This leaves us that Miles will have new powers. It is also confirmed during one of the missions where Mary Jane infiltrates secret lab. Immediately to the right of the entrance and interact with the graph detailing two specific strains of Spider DNA. One designed for active-camouflage and the other to emit electro-kinetic blast. These two are actually Miles two biggest powers from the comics and Insomniac has done fabulous portrayal once again.
It is unclear how Miles Morales will play out in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2. We speculate his camouflage may be used to infiltrate certain missions with stealth approach and kinetic blast may be used on Venom. It is not sure as of yet, but, one thing is sure that his new set of moves will be different from Peter.
01. The Marvel Gaming Universe in Action
Out of all the things we do know about the Spider-Man is the presence of Marvel gaming universe that is sure to be its most exciting elements. It is confirmed so far and stated properly by Marvel Games’ Executive Director of Spider-Man as:
One of my fave parts of this video is when [Bryan] talks about how Marvel’sSpider-Man is intended as ‘the Iron Man of Marvel video games… [That] is exactly how we view it. As with that first MCU hit, [Marvel’s Spider-Man] kicks off a new era for Marvel console games
