With the moments before the EA Play kicked off at E3 2019, EA Sports announced a Fifa 20 street mode called VOLTA Football as said: “The stadium is anywhere”. Although this is not the latest announcement and EA Sports have been teasing the idea with short teasers and posters on Twitter.
Meanwhile, today EA officially came forward to announce the latest Fifa ‘VOLTA’ street mode and more details about it. The announcement on EA’s website reads:
VOLTA – meaning ‘to return’ in Portuguese. Get ready to Break New Ground in EA SPORTS™ VOLTA Football when FIFA 20 launches September 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Giving you an authentic street football experience, VOLTA Football provides you with the tools to express yourself both on and off the court.
Generally, the VOLTA is a street mode for Fifa 20 that lets players join 3 vs 3 Rush, 4 vs 4, 4 vs 4 Rush, 5 vs 5 and also professional Futsal in different provided locations. The sizes of the arenas and environments also vary. The different locations that are shown in the trailer include underpass in Amsterdam, neighborhood cage in London and Tokyo rooftops.
According to EA, players will be allowed to express the styles in a custom built gameplay system for a grounded football. The mode is inspired by small streets, grounds, cages and futsal courts, while the VOLTA immerses the experience with new tools, skill moves and even a wall to put it up for your advantage.
In Fifa 20 street mode, players will be able to build up a squad or join one to play Volta story mode with their own customized avatar. On the other side, players can rather play to pre-developed teams in online Volta league or can simply start a pro team in Volta Kick-off.
The Fifa 20 street mode is coming for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. While a Nintendo Switch version is also announced as a “Legacy Edition”.
